Woodlands balance course and cedar post climber deep within Waukesha nature preserve.
A collaboration between WCP and GRG was established where GRG was subcontracted to design and install two climbing features for the space along with a 3D model of the master plan for promoting the new space while WCP would provide various materials (ash, cedar, mulch) and labor to bring the vision to completion.
Waukesha County Parks landscape architect designed a master plan for an interactive outdoor educational space that included some natural playscape features that they named Discovery Trail.
An area encircled by a newly resurfaced asphalt trail enclosed a mature stand of pines. GRG designed and installed a climbing/balancing course that weaves through the pines while maintaining ASTM, CPSC, and IPEMA standards as well as a Forest Climber, a series of vertical steppers coinciding with vertical posts with handholds.
