RED CABOOSE CHILDCARE CENTER

In late 2020, Red Caboose was moving to a new site that allowed them to build their own building and play space. Nature based play that incorporated ADA accessibility, climbing opportunities and a healthy balance of open-ended play were priorities for the new play space.
In collaboration with Saiki Design
The childcare center approached GRG and GRG set to work designing, furnishing and installing the space, anchoring it with a custom tree house climber set high on a poured-in-place, ADA accessible slope.
Further amenities included wheelchair accessible playhouses and a water-play feature with a hand-pump and river rock runnel. The site was finished with a few peaceful nooks for gathering or just reading a book: a black locust log pergola with seating and a hanging pod swinging seat.
