GRG Playscapes was honored to enhance two existing play areas with nature-based features that promote open-ended play, transforming underused areas into distinct spaces for ages 6mo–2 yrs and 2–5yrs.
For the 2–5-year-olds, The existing traditional playground equipment was enhanced with new elements including a log climber, ring climber, book nook, playhouse, construction zone, sand play, and a winding trike path—expanding play opportunities and creating a dynamic natural playground

In both areas, natural materials and a thoughtful layout created distinct zones—using exisitng topography, trees and the traditional structures already in place, this enhancement didn't require a complete overhaul just careful design intention to utilize the whole space to spread out play!
The 0-2-year-old area now includes a properly scaled embankment slide, sand play with loose parts, a mud kitchen, and a small trike path with a bridge. GRG wove plantings and trees throughout both spaces.
This transformation has revitalized the play space, offering a dynamic and engaging environment for all ages.
